The patient's teeth are then prepared for veneers if they go the traditional route. An anesthetic is administered and enamel is removed. It takes roughly two weeks for the veneers to get back to the dentist.
The patient will be fitted with temporary veneers to protect their teeth while their restorations are being made. Once they are ready, the temporary restorations are removed, and the patient's customized veneers are cemented to their teeth.
There is no recovery period with veneers, so patients are free to get back to their routine. Some people experience increased sensitivity after getting veneers. This typically goes away after a few days. Veneers do not require any specialized care, as good oral hygiene can keep them in good condition and they can last up to 15 years.
